This is the personal blog of Tom Nys.

I was born in 1976 in Leuven, Belgium, and am currently based in Nottingham, UK.

I hold a university degree in Art History and am currently working as a curator and author. In 2022, I obtained a doctoral degree via the Centre for Doctoral Training Feminism, Sexual Politics and Visual Culture at Loughborough University. The subject of my PhD is how contemporary visual artists have dealt with the theme of abortion in their work, and how this may be a means to reduce abortion stigma. Furthermore, I write about visual arts and (dance) music for different media; other personal interests are art and feminism, art and art theories related to the landscape, and anarchism. You can find out more about the events I organised so far on the ‘portfolio’ pages and can check my written output on the ‘list of publications’ page.
